About the Author
Jiddu Krishnamurti was born on 11 May 1895 in Madanapalle, a small town in south India. He and his brother were adopted in their youth by Dr Annie Besant, then president of the Theosophical Society. Dr Besant and others proclaimed that Krishnamurti was to be a world teacher whose coming the Theosophists had predicted. To prepare the world for this coming, a world-wide organization called the Order of the Star in the East was formed and the young Krishnamurti was made its head. In 1929, however, Krishnamurti renounced the role that he was expected to play, dissolved the Order with its huge following, and returned all the money and property that had been donated for this work. From then, for nearly sixty years until his death on 17 February 1986, he travelled throughout the world talking to large audiences and to individuals about the need for a radical change in mankind.

J. Krishnamurti did NOT write this book

This 2010 edition of a book first published in 1923 when the young J. Krishnamurti was still under the influence of the Theosophical Society is not by him.
Note this book is an early work which is now out of copyright and has become part of the public domain. Notice from the copyright line that there are no Krishnamurti or even Theosophical entities involved. BiblioLife, LLC has just taken it over, copyrighted it, and is now selling what was just a pamphlet to begin with.
In fact, Krishnamurti would later deny having written it. In 1929 he dissolved The Order of the Star in the East, the Theosophical branch which had been founded in 1911 to proclaim the coming of the World Teacher, whom they felt was to be incarnated in Krishnamurti. Most interesting on that topic is J. Krishnamurti's dissolution speech, and that is free to read at jkrishnamurti.org (the official repository of the authentic teachings of J. Krishnamurti) together with important works by Krishnamurti on education, which gave rise to the schools he founded on three continents.
