Chris Scott is a veteran travel guide author, adventurer and tour leader. He's made films of his rides in the Yukon (Call of the Wild, 2001), Desert Riders in the central Sahara (featured on National Geographic Channel) and Gorge Riders in north-western Australia (2005).

Finally a true guide

Since Vehicle Dependent Expeditions became too expensive for most to buy (600 dollars a copy!)there has been a void in the overlanding book arena. This book covers all of the details from building and equipping the vehicle to the expedition or travel itself. Part of the book comes form his other titles (Sahara and Adventure Motorcycling) but the is loads of new content as well. I highly recommend the purchase of this book.

Massive and very complete guide to vehicle expedition. At nearly 800 pages, it's far too broad reaching to summarize here, but if you've been waiting (in vain) for a third ad hopefully affordable edition of Shepperd's VDE guide, just give it up. Buy this excellent guide and get out there.
